Commemorative Journal Production Specifications
MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Platform: Mac or PC/Mac Hybrid
B. Media: CD-ROM, Zip-100, FTP Upload upon request
C. Applications: QuarkXPress 4.1 files and InDesign are preferred and the only files in which we can make
changes; Acrobat 6.0; Photoshop 5.5 or greater.
D. All full-page ads must be sized 8 1/4x11 1/8 inches.
E. Fonts: All fonts must be Adobe Type 1 postcript fonts and included with your ad.
F. Hi-Res: Hi-resolution images may not exceed 300 dpi at final output size and must be converted to
CMYK (NOT RGB).
G. Line art: Line art resolution should be in bezier format (Adobe Illustrator EPS) or should be between
1000 dpi to 2400 dpi.
E. 5th Colors: Extra colors are not available in this publication at this time.
I. Proofing: One contract proof, Kodak approval or Imation matchprint must accompany your files.
Publisher cannot guarantee a good match to any other proof brand and/or inkjet/laser outputs.
J. Please be sure that all files, Hi-res images, fonts, EPS images etc. are included on disk.
K. Copy dot: These files are not currently accepted by the publisher.
L. Inserts: A mock example must be sent to publisher at the address below for bindery approval, prior to
insert being printed.
M. Alignment: Perfect alignment of type or design across the gutter of two facing pages cannot be
guaranteed.
N. Keep in live matter 1/4 inch from the trim on all four sides.
